The Kind Thought Project

The Kind Thought Project is a free community initiative offering reflective spaces for kinder ways of thinking.

What it is

The Kind Thought Project is a community initiative exploring how kinder, clearer ways of thinking can reduce pressure

and support wellbeing — in everyday life and at work.

It offers accessible spaces for reflection, learning, and gentle structure, without judgement, urgency,

or performance expectations. This is not about fixing people.
It is about changing how we relate to what we carry — thoughts, emotions, responsibilities, and inner narratives.

What it’s grounded in

The work is grounded in positive psychology, understood in its original, evidence-based sense.

Not forced positivity.
Not “thinking happy thoughts”.

At its heart is a simple principle:

Growth is more sustainable when we build on strengths rather than trying to correct weaknesses.

Strengths, emotions, and pressure

Strengths sit at the centre of this work, informed by the CliftonStrengths framework.

Strengths shape:

  • how we respond under pressure

  • what gives us energy or drains it

  • how we relate to work and to ourselves

Alongside strengths, we explore emotional agility : learning to relate to emotions with curiosity rather than control,

especially during stress and change.

Kind thinking at work

A large part of mental load comes from work — unclear projects, expectations, and responsibilities.

Through sessions such as Kind Thinking at Work, we apply this philosophy to professional life:

  • reducing overwhelm caused by ambiguity

  • creating clarity without pressure

  • bringing gentle structure to how work is held

Project thinking is used here not as technical training, but as a way to think more kindly and clearly about work.

One philosophy, different ways in

The Kind Thought Project is:

  • community-focused

  • non-hierarchical

  • non-performative

People can attend a single session, join a short series, or engage at their own pace.

Relationship with La Verte Forêt

The Kind Thought Project is the community expression of La Verte Forêt.

  • The Kind Thought Project → open exploration, shared language, accessible learning

  • La Verte Forêt → deeper coaching, structured journeys, and 1:1 support

Some initiatives sit naturally at the intersection of both.

A simple intention

If people leave feeling:

  • a little clearer

  • a little kinder toward themselves

  • a little more resourced

Then The Kind Thought Project is doing what it exists to do.
